Sequence Photo of Lunar Eclipse
last june 2011 a lunar eclipsed occured and i think every people in the world wants to view it, that includes me. Good thing the place where i stayed and played all the time gave me a good view of it. Therefore i am shooting while playing. Every 10mins i make sure i capture the event. From Full moon to red moon to full moon again i waited and imaged it.
Sequence Photography is a technique where a series of photos of one subject is captured in successive motion. Then putting it into one static image. Normally, you can use this technique in sports, wildlife and any motions you want to capture.
Based on my lunar photos, i got lots of images and posting it on the web individually, imagine a moon you see over and over again?. And beside a moon is kinda of a flat image not unless you captured it in a unique way. Here is where sequence photography steps in:
Because I was busy playing a game, I did not captured the first full moon, anyway nothing special on that hehehe.

image below was the lunar eclipse

from lunar to full moon

Making this lunar eclipse in sequence photo is kinda easy because the back ground is black, in short nothing important. Because of this it will be a piece of cake in editing it in photoshop!. I am not a guru in photoshop, based on 10/10 i rank 3/10 (lowest is 1). This workflow is only for this image, it might not work in your images.
A quick tip:
1. On your photoshop, open all the images into one file. (images below are sample images not the original workflow shown above). observe the layers i have 3 images into one layer

2. first layer move to slight to right, 2nd layer move slight to left, last layer do not do anything.

3. Using the erase tool, on the first layer, erase the portion where the moon on the second layer is located, the is on the left part.

4. #1 erase that portion, #2 make sure you are at the 1st layer

5. #1 switch to # 2 layer and erase the portion in #3 to reveal the image at 3rd layer

6. merge the layers as shown below #1and save..!

the editing is quite easy even beginners in photoshop can do it. sequencing your image gives impact, interest, a wow! for your moon shots.
comments and suggestions are welcome thanks alot.

You did mention diigtal and did not mention a budget so I am going to heartily recommend the Nikon D50, Nikon D90, Nikon D700 or Canon EOS-1 Mark III ds.Photoshop will work with any camera file but please keep in mind that it is best to create the best image you can in the camera first and then polish, if need be, in post processing.References :
